President George Abela has visited the OASI Foundation, in Gozo. Upon his arrival he was welcomed by the founder and director of the Foundation OASI, Dun Manwel Cordina.
Also present were the board of directors who explained the work of the Foundation in the field of prevention and care from abuse of drugs and alcohol.
President Abela met directly with residents of the OASI who each one had a chance to speak about their experience and what had led them to seek the help of the Foundation. The President encouraged those residents to look forward for the future and leave the past behind.
Dun Manwel Cordina thanked President George Abela, and said that his visit will give the residents a positive attitude and be of great encouragement to them.
The Foundation works both on the preventive side of the problem of abuse of alcohol and drugs, as well as the rehabilitation of people affected by these problems through professionally trained staff.
OASI promotes rehabilitation through an emphasis on the psychological side, as well as the social and spiritual needs of people affected by the problem of dependence on alcohol and drugs.
